Scarves 101

With the chill of fall mornings I often grab a scarf before I head out.  It’s the one accessory that I can wear many ways and often it’s just the right weight to give me a little more warmth or a little more color to an otherwise simple outfit.

An large silk square scarf tied the right way can elevate a simple jean outfit. Rock this look for lunch with the girls, fall afternoon shopping or a garden tour. Wrap the scarf around twice at the neck and knot to one side, pair it with distressed jeans, white top (half tuck or full tuck), flats, blazer over the shoulders and sunglasses.

Tying a small scarf on your handbag is not only moving your handbag to a higher level of chicness but think of how handy it would be if you need a day-to-evening piece at the last minute and can transfer that scarf to you neck. You can also use a scarf as a belt - try this with a white tee and ripped jeans.

The newest hair accessory is a scarf!  Tie around your high ponytail or knot around your messy bun.  A scarf also makes a great headband, especially if it's silk. The best shapes for these are 12” squares or long ties like the Hermes Twilly.
