Spring's Early Blooms

Get outside and discover the first glimpses of spring

As our nation practices social distancing, and we prepare to spend a lot of time at home, I am trying to steal as much time as I can by walking in my neighborhood and nearby Huntington Gardens. Early signs of spring are already peeking out here and there.

Southern California is unique in that our temperatures fluctuate in wild swings: today, it could be raining, and tomorrow the sun shines from morning until night. Therefore, spring may appear much earlier than our friends on the east coast. Here are a few of the sights I've seen.

Can words describe the fragrance of the very breath of spring?

Even the slightest color of spring gets me excited.

I hope you can take in the sights and scents of spring.

The scent of wisteria can be so intoxicating.

The purple blooms droop with grace.

Stay well! Spring is around the corner.

If your travel plans take you to Southern California, I highly recommend visiting the Huntington Library and Gardens in San Marino.
