The Best Leave-In Conditioners to Hydrate Your Hair
Does your hair need a little hydration in the summer?
During the summer months, my hair gets extra sun exposure and can develop dryness from pool and beach swims. I also shampoo more regularly, so I need more moisture for my hair. My new favorite product is a leave-in conditioner that gives my hair just that little bit of hydration that I don't wash out like a typical conditioner.
According to Vogue, …leave-in conditioner sprays are largely considered the swiss army knife of products, supplying hair with moisture, definition, and overall softer, shinier strands with mist-and-go ease.” They are also a great product to prep your hair before styling and using hot tools like curling wands and straighteners.
What to look for
According to celebrity hairstylist Jen Atkin you want to look for a conditioner that is lightweight and rich in moisture. Atkin says these two factors are important, “so it won’t weigh down fine hair, which is especially important for anyone with fine, curly or coily hair types, but is still hydrating enough to be effective on thick hair.” She has teamed up with her haircare brand Ouai and Byredo to develop a leave in conditioner that has all the important qualities she likes and the popular Bydredo scent of Mojave Ghost called Ouai x Byredo.
Tinted moisturizers are popular in the summertime when just a little coverage is needed and SPF is a must. We’ve reviewed three that have a little something for everyone. We hope you find one to love.
