International Women's Day - Teach our Daughters

Today is International Women’s Day and the focus is on women who have changed the world. If you look at the Nobel Prize winners, they include Madame Currie and Mother Teresa. These women made monumental changes in the areas of science and humanitarianism. I’m sure they would welcome other sisters into their circle for their likewise life-changing efforts. My vote for one of these major contributors is Harriet Tubman

As a teacher, I get to revisit important American Heroes every year. One that always is always on the top 10 is Harriet Tubman. She was brave and driven to her cause of helping enslaved Blacks escape to freedom during the Civil War via the Underground Railroad. Regardless of risk to her safety, she helped those newly freed slaves find work and their way in the free world. Who do you admire?
