Breast Cancer Awareness Month is Embraced in Different Ways
My support of breast cancer awareness will never fade. For some it’s fulfilling to walk the walks, make donations, or wear the colors, I however, prefer to take a step back now that I have had a very personal connection to the disease. Experiencing the high of surviving breast cancer myself (almost 8 years) and the agony of losing my sister to the same disease, I have mixed feelings about wearing the banner on my sleeve. I want to support the cause but I want to do it in a way that I can be most useful. I don’t want to be loud, I want to listen. I want to hear the struggles and concerns of someone fighting the disease or listen to someone who has lost a love one. That is my contribution for now. How do you support?
