The Accessories Make the Outfit
One of the best parts of being a mother-of-the-bride is being able to curate outfits for all the festive occasions. The highest priority is, of course, the wedding ensemble. The dress was smooth - simple lines, blue and white, but the fun started when I moved on to the other elements that pulled the whole look together.
Comfort is the priority for shoes that have to last all night. I looked for a block heel to take on the terrain of the dining area (grass) and be comfortable enough to dance all night. Maryam Nassir Zadeh (see similar) makes one that has a 2.75” heel and still exudes sexy without being sky high. The clutch is from the Blumera Elizabeth Crystal Collection and is handmade by the owner, artist Mehera Blum. I got to meet her and hear her story of travel and inspirations that make each bag unique. The hand -embroidered hanky from Hibiscus Linens was a gift from a dear friend who thought it might come in handy throughout the evening. Finally, the pearls are old, handed down, and now I will be wearing them on this momentous day, hopefully, to hand down once again to someone else.
